What We Do

In His Hands has helped thousands of orphans and vulnerable children around the world, as well as children in United States foster care.

Our Mission

In His Hands received 501(c)(3) non-profit status in 2008, as a result of the calling Michelle Delhaute McGowan had to change the lives of orphans worldwide. Since that time, In His Hands has provided homes, loving care, food, education, medicine, and life-saving surgeries for children around the world. Orphan awareness, orphan prevention, holistic care for orphans, and adoption support are the causes that drive us forward. Our work spans many countries, but our focus is on Haiti, Kenya, Myanmar, the Philippines and the United States.

What We’re Doing

HAITI

In 2015, In His Hands purchased 6.375 acres in Grande Savanne, Haiti and thanks to donors’ support, a mission house, 6 orphan homes, bathhouses, an infirmary, guest house, kitchen, pavilion, intern triplex, and guard station were built.

Orphans are lovingly cared for in the homes by house parents and the children attend the local school and church.

Your funds provide food, clothing, education, tutoring, medical care, Haitian staff salaries and more. In His Hands is also involved in the community and provides small business loans to needy people to help them better provide for their families.

After the 2021 earthquake, your relief support provided food, clean water and clothing to affected victims. Typically, around 40 children are in our care at any given time.

After the 2023 flood, you provided hundreds of meals to flood victims.

KENYA

Kenya is our newest program, which we began funding in April 2022. We work with pastors to provide food, education and medical care for orphans, and feed 92 people a day.

In addition, we work with widows who are caring for orphans in their homes and help them to start small businesses so they can better support themselves and the children in their care.

In His Hands purchased 2 acres of land in Kenya and this is the future site of a fresh water well that will provide clean water for the community, a home for orphans, a kitchen, pavilion, and medical center.

MYANMAR

In 2019, In His Hands began caring for 45 orphans in Myanmar in two different locations.

We purchased two properties and provide food, clothing, education, and loving care through the native missionaries we support and their assistants.

PHILIPPINES

In 2020, In His Hands was asked to provide funding for Still Waters Kids Home in Majayjay, Laguna in the Philippines, which was started by missionaries Linda and Virgilio Jacinto.

This home lovingly cares for approximately 12 orphans and also has a preschool for impoverished area children. The orphans are provided with food, clothing, medical care and education.

What We’ve Done

CHINA

In His Hands started helping orphans in China by joining forces with private orphanages, and heated these orphanages to keep children warm in the winter. We purchased vans so children with special needs had a way to get to school, provided medical care, clothing, food, construction projects, cribs, beds, clean water and more.

UGANDA

ETHIOPIA

SIERRA LEONE

In Uganda, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone, In His Hands provided funding to build a total of 11 orphan homes, a sewing center, a school, a van, beds, funded small business startups and provided support for 3 years for the orphan homes in both Uganda and Ethiopia.

INDIA

In India, In His Hands worked with missionaries to provide food, clothing, beds and education for orphans and vulnerable children.
